Happy New Year!
Remote learning begins on Wednesday 6th January. Don't worry Year 2, you can still earn plenty of Pokemon with fantastic learning from home - even shiny ones! I had a new starter ready to give you all so that can be earned with your first day of home learning!
Google classroom will be used as it was for our homeworks. Home learning for the day will be available from 8:30am. Please complete the tasks, or take pictures if needed, and submit them for me to mark. I will respond as soon as I can.
Google classroom can be used to ask me questions about the home learning. I will be on google classroom for normal school hours. I can also respond to emails during these hours. Please don't hesitiate to contact me!
If you need another book to write in, these are available in school. Please call the school beforehand to let us know you are coming.
Happy home learning Year 2. Missing you!

Home Learning this week
Below is the home learning task set for this week. If you can't get on to google classroom, please send me a picture of your child's learning by email.
Design a castle for Mr Phillips to live in (date due: Thurs 12th Nov)
To prepare for our towers, tunnels and turrets topic, your home learning today is to design a castle for Mr Phillips to live in! Draw it, label it and tell me all about it. Your castle doesn't have to be an old one. It could be a castle from the future! I look forward to seeing the castle you create for me.

Year 2 Class Letters and Curriculum Overviews
Goodbye Mrs Jardine!
This week we sadly said goodbye to Mrs Jardine. We wished her good luck with her new adventures and thanked her for all of her hard work in Year 2. She would like to thank everyone for the cards and gifts that she received.

A message from Miss Boddy!
Hello everyone! It is great news that you will be joining me next year in Year 3. Year 3 is such an exciting year where we learn lots of new things including recorders and French! You will all be starting your Pokémon journey too. All will be revealed very soon. I look forward to seeing most of you Friday 10th July.
Summer 2 Week 6 (Week commencing 13/7/20)
Our final week as Year 2! This week there are some short English grammar sheets, an art activity and a maths revision sheet. The other activity for this week is to keep reading... and keep reading as much as you can over the summer.
Thank you for being a wonderful class. We are terribly sad that we only had half a year together but you will see both myself and Mrs Wilson around school in September. Remember to come and say 'hello'.
Have a great final week as Year 2, enjoy your summer and come back refreshed and ready for YEAR 3 in September.
Many thanks for all your support throughout this year. Your children are fab and we have thoroughly enjoyed being their teacher and teaching assistants this year.
Keep smiling and reach for the stars!
Miss Short, Mrs Wilson and Mrs Jardine.

Never fear, Joe Wicks is here!
Joe Wicks will be streaming a live 30 minute PE session, suitable for KS1 upwards, every weekday morning at 9am. The first session is on Monday 23rd March. Minimal equipment and space is needed. This is a great way to keep your children active at a time when it may be difficult to do so. It looks like fun too! Here is the link to his Youtube channel:
