Welcome to Year 3's Class Page!
Google classroom will be used as it was for our homeworks. Home learning for the day will be available from 8:00am. Please complete the tasks, or take pictures if needed, and submit them for me to mark. I will respond as soon as I can.
Google classroom can be used to ask me questions about the home learning. I will be on Google classroom for normal school hours. I can also respond to emails during these hours. Please don't hesitate to contact me!
If you need another book to write in, these are available in school. Please call the school beforehand to let us know you are coming.

|Task||If you have finished...|
Task 1: columnar addition
Starting with the ones, add these 3-digit numbers together. See if there are any you need to regroup.
Task 2: Mixed addition
Using some of the strategies we have used over the past few weeks, add these numbers together. You may want to continue using columnar addition. I want you to explain what strategy is best for you and why.
1) 475 + 17 + 273 =
2) 849 + 888 + 12 =
3) 47 + 23 + 48 =
4) 374 + 873 + 111 =
5) 47 + 234 + 849 =
On Purple Mash,
You will need a timer, stop watch or a family member to time a minute for you. Try and complete these sums and calculations in two minutes of less!

Literacy Shed - Catch It
Over the next few days, I will be setting work based around a Literacy Shed unit.

It is coming to the end of Year 3 for you all. I hope to see you next Thursday! We will have a great time together. Between now and next Thursday I will be setting a few short tasks for you to complete.

Task 1: Reflecting on my time in Year 3
I would like you to write about your time in Year 3. Think about all the things you have enjoyed. We have learned lots too. See below the things we have done:
- War and Peas/ Hare and The Tortoise
- Times Tables Rock stars
- football matches
- art week - water colour animals
… and lots more!!
Task 2: Preparing for Year 4
I would like you to write a diary entry about the following:
- What am I looking forward to in Year 4
- What I might be unsure about
- What would you like to achieve in Year 4
- What will you miss about Year 3

I would like you to write 3 things you have achieve this year!

Try something new out. Follow this website and get some exciting music lessons. First lesson: experimenting with sounds.
Children to read for at least 15 minutes a day. See below for e books.
I am happy for children to read from any level on Accelerated Reading.

Look out for battle off Mrs Walsh and I. Log in between 2pm - 2:30pm each weekday in the Arena to have a chance to battle your friends.
Spelling ShedPractice Year 1 and 2 common exceptions words and Year 3 and 4 common exception words.
Here are some links to access some free ebooks. If the children would like to take a quiz on the book they have read follow the Accelerated Reading link. I am happy for children to read at any level during this time.

Never fear, Joe Wicks is here!
Joe Wicks will be streaming a live 30 minute PE session, suitable for KS1 upwards, every weekday morning at 9am. The first session is on Monday 23rd March. Minimal equipment and space is needed. This is a great way to keep your children active at a time when it may be difficult to do so. It looks like fun too! Here is the link to his Youtube channel:
Premier Sports Stay Active
This link will allow you to sign in to the Premier Sports Stay Active site. This has been set up for parents and has lots of resources that you can use with your children to promote physical activity, health and wellbeing and life skills. Well worth a look!
