# Year 3

## Welcome to Year 3's class page!

We will continue to update parents/carers as often as we can through Marvellous Me, and notify of any learning tasks we set for the children whilst they are at home. The children will be able to complete online tasks, through either the links below, or Marvellous Me.

The children will also be given learning packs to bring home, if possible.

Please contact me on my Teacher's email: katherineboddy@stonehill.herts.sch.uk with any concerns or queries. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Maths

Task 1: Converting centimetres into metres (Part 2)

Remember 1 metre is the same as 100 centimetres. Sometimes you  come across a number that has a tens digit more than 0.

360cm = 3.60m

All you need to do is put in the decimal point where you can find a metre.

Have ago at converting these measurements below:

 220cm = 910cm = 580cm = 480cm = 850cm = 190cm =

Have ago at converting metres into centimetres.

 2m 5m 7.2m 6.7m 4.4m 9.1m

Task 2: Mixed sums and calculations

 415 + 362 = 6 x 8 = 773 + 12 = 7 x 7 x 5 = 974 - 837 = 1/8 of 16 = Play 2Race - addition up to 100 on Purple Mash

Minute maths

You will need a timer, stop watch or a family member to time a minute for you. Try and complete these sums and calculations in one minute or less!

 10 x 2 500 x 4 = 100 + 100 + ____ = 500 900 - ____ = 200 838 - ____ = 378 372 + 182 = Double 78 Half of 124

Describing a character

I would like you to do something a bit different today. We are going to move away from BBC Bitesize for the day.

I would like you to write a short description about a Pokémon of your choice. For example,

Charizard

Charizard has a sunny yellow belly with bright orange wings. His fiery red breath sizzles anything in its path. Charizard is a strong and courageous Pokémon. With his muscular, flexible wings he can shoot across the sky above his prey.

Art

This week it would of been art week in school. I've decided to set a few art projects for you on Purple Mash to celebrate this.

I will spread these art projects over 2 days - this will be to Friday.

Task 2: Paint a picture of a summer scene

Music

Try something new out. Follow this website and get some exciting music lessons. First lesson: experimenting with sounds.
