Hello and welcome to Year 6. This year is an exciting year and of course your final year of Primary school. We are currently learning about the Children of the war. Of course, we will be working towards the SATs in May and updates on this will be sent to you nearer to the time. If you have any questions and need to contact me about anything, please do so via my email:

This half Term we our topic is 'Frozen Kingdom'
Welcome to the planet’s coldest lands. Vast wilds and hostile territories; incredibly beautiful, yet often deadly. Take shelter from the elements or fall prey to icy winds and the deepest chill. Trek bravely and valiantly across treacherous terrain to the ends of the Earth, treading deep in snow or being pulled by a team of mighty sled dogs. Be alert, for magnificent mammals roam these lands, sometimes hungry or fresh for a fight. Perhaps a hungry polar bear or an Arctic fox is hunting rodents, as swift as the wind. Research facts and figures of climate, temperature, habitats and ecosystems, and compose evocative poems about the Northern Lights. Become part of an Antarctic rescue team, braving the elements to rescue terrified passengers from a ship struck by a deadly iceberg that hides deep beneath the Southern Ocean. Wrap up well and settle by the fire. I’m just going outside and may be some time.

Below you will continue to find the home learning week by week.
We will continue to update parents/carers as often as we can through marvellous me, and notify of any learning tasks we set for the children whilst they are at home. The children will be able to complete online tasks, through either the links below, or marvellous me.
If you have any queries about the home learning or need some advice, feel free to email
oliviafreeston@Stonehill.herts.sch.uk
If the children would like to talk about their week, they can email me on a Monday and I will reply to the same email address when I can. Looking forward to hearing from you Year 6!

Home Learning has now finished for the Year and we look forward to welcoming back the new Year 6 in September! But, we will miss the current Year 6's and wish them all the best in the future!
Sports Day... at home!
It's usually around this time of year that we have our sports day - a whole morning of exciting physical activities that ends with the new house champions proudly holding up the house trophy.
Unfortunately, we can't have a whole school sports day this year, but... we can have lots of little sports days in your homes!
Below is a pack that gives you lots of ideas to have a sports day in your home. We are encouraging everyone to have a sports day at home if they can. Please email me pictures if you want to and I can put them on our class page. There is also a national competition that you can enter to win a hamper of sports goodies. The pack even has little medals that can be cut out and awarded (how exciting!).
I look forward to seeing pictures of your sports days. Have fun!
