Year 6
Hello and welcome to Year 6. This year is an exciting year and of course your final year of Primary school. We If you have any questions and need to contact me about anything, please do so via my email:
Oliviafreeston@stonehill.herts.sch.uk
This half term we are looking forward to our production: more details will follow.
Also, lots of learning around transition and preparing for our last few days at Primary school
Topic: Darwin's Delights
We’re off on an exciting expedition with Charles Darwin and his crew on HMS Beagle. Can you trace his route across the vast ocean? Stop at the magical Galápagos Islands to see the amazing species that helped Charles Darwin to develop his theory of evolution by natural selection. Do you know what’s so special about a lava lizard, or why the blue-footed booby has blue feet? See how animals adapt to their environments over time and meet some of the world’s greatest explorers and naturalists. Imagine how humans will evolve in millions of years. It’s a scary thought. Ready to trace the origin of species? Let’s set sail.

Home Learning
Below you will continue to find the home learning week by week.
We will continue to update parents/carers as often as we can through marvellous me, and notify of any learning tasks we set for the children whilst they are at home. The children will be able to complete online tasks, through either the links below, or marvellous me.
If you have any queries about the home learning or need some advice, feel free to email
oliviafreeston@Stonehill.herts.sch.uk
If the children would like to talk about their week, they can email me on a Monday and I will reply to the same email address when I can. Looking forward to hearing from you Year 6!

Home Learning has now finished for the Year and we look forward to welcoming back the new Year 6 in September! But, we will miss the current Year 6's and wish them all the best in the future!
Sports Day... at home!
It's usually around this time of year that we have our sports day - a whole morning of exciting physical activities that ends with the new house champions proudly holding up the house trophy.
Unfortunately, we can't have a whole school sports day this year, but... we can have lots of little sports days in your homes!
Below is a pack that gives you lots of ideas to have a sports day in your home. We are encouraging everyone to have a sports day at home if they can. Please email me pictures if you want to and I can put them on our class page. There is also a national competition that you can enter to win a hamper of sports goodies. The pack even has little medals that can be cut out and awarded (how exciting!).
I look forward to seeing pictures of your sports days. Have fun!
