Growing Lifelong Learners

Welcome

Headteacher's Welcome

My name is Elaine Close and on behalf of staff, pupils and governors, I would like to welcome you to our school website.

Stonehill School is a small, one form entry primary school serving a diverse community in Letchworth Garden City.

At Stonehill, our motto is “Growing Lifelong Learners” and we work hard to ensure every child has a happy, positive experience at school.  We believe that children who feel secure and cared for make the best progress in all aspects of their learning and we strive to enable every pupil to feel confident and happy so that they can achieve to their full potential.

Pupil and staff wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do and we take pride in the support we give to our pupils during the time they are with us. We are privileged to know every child well and we value and celebrate the diversity of our school community. We work hard to develop positive links with our families and encourage our parents and carers to get involved in school life.

Visitors to the school frequently comment on the caring, supportive learning environment and the positive ways in which the children learn and play together.

We have high aspirations for all of our children and offer a curriculum that supports their needs. It is rich and inspiring and offers a broad range of experiences and opportunities. We are fortunate to have lovely school grounds, including access to a small woodland area for the children to explore and we try to incorporate these as much as possible into our curriculum.

I hope you enjoy visiting our website. If you are considering Stonehill School for your child and would like further information about the school or would like to arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to contact to us.  We are always very happy to help.
